There is a great atmosphere here, not just amongst the care staff but with everybody from the cleaning team through to the management. I started as care staff in 2015 after previously working with the cleaning and laundry teams, and in 2017 I got an opportunity to train as a Senior Care Worker. This role is now my full-time job. I have had fantastic opportunities for progression and development within the company. What I love about my job is the fact that no two days are the same and there’s a really good team culture in Fold.

I’m Nathalia Oliveira, I joined Fold Housing in early 2019 as an Accounts Assistant in the financial department based in the head office.

My favourite thing about working for Fold Housing is the opportunity to work alongside my team, who are really nice, there is also a pleasant working environment, and I like being a part of. If I can choose a second thing, it would be knowing that our company is making a difference to society by providing social housing for those who really need it. I think that’s really important considering the housing crisis that we are experiencing in Ireland at the moment.

Being part of the Design Team and seeing a project move from paper to bricks and mortar is probably the most exciting and creative part of the process, and it is especially enjoyable and satisfying to see a building coming out of the ground. The best part, however, is seeing lights on and people moving into their new home and knowing that I have contributed in a small way to making this a possibility for them.

For the last 17 years, Fold’s Anam Cara Scheme has been my second home! I love working with the people around me.
